LE MOULAGE D’ART
Reproduire l’exceptionnel
Artistic moulding constitutes the heart of our activity. On site or in our workshop in Saint Denis, we employ various moulding techniques including hollow or piece moulds as well as elastomer rubber. Our creations exist in all materials and on all scales.
Elastomer moulding is the quickest and surest technique to reproduce a work of art. The Chateau of Versailles prefers this method for recreating the marble originals, which must be protected from corrosive rain. The reproductions are then made using a mixture of pulverized marble and resin.
Using hollow or piece moulds is the only moulding process that has endured since the end of the 19th century and the only technique available today that is adapted to the reproduction of pieces in terra cotta. We employ this method to create reproductions for museums, artists and for architectural projects.
Shown here is an imprint taken in quick-setting elastomer paste. While this technique may not be entirely adapted for reproductions, it is perfectly suited for decorative elements produced on site.
